| Gareth
originally signed for All saints in 2000 as a central
midfielder where he quickly asserted himself and
managed to retain his first team status throughout the
year.
At the beginning of the
2001/2 season, Gareth was on loan at Holyhead Hotspurs
in the Welsh League. Recalled to replace the
injured Gary Blackwell, Gareth went on to score 20
goals in 20 appearances for the Saints, never having
played as a striker before and beating his previous
best tally of 17.
A skillful, pacy
player, Gareth has struggled with recurring muscular
injuries this season, but has promised a 40 goal
season next year to make up for it! Through
contract negotiations he has also agreed to take over
secretarial duties from Padraig Clarke.
